Balvenie DoubleWood 12 year old is distinguished by its maturation in two types of casks. The assortment is transferred from Bourbon casks to sherry casks at the first bottling, where it spends the last nine months of maturation. Each of these two phases gives the single malt different qualities. The traditional casks give it a pleasant and personal character, while the sherry casks add depth and expressiveness to the taste. Despite its complex identity, the assortment is easy to drink and is aimed primarily at those who prefer a fragrant and sophisticated single malt.

On the palate, it is a soft and gentle single malt with beautifully combined flavors - nutty sweetness, cinnamony spiciness and a delicate layer of sherry - with a long and warming finish
