In 1865, Maurice Hennessy, the great-grandson of the founder Richard Hennessy, created a star-shaped classification system to distinguish the quality of cognac varieties. Hennessy's three-star brandy has become Hennessy VS ("Very Special"), the most popular cognac in the world. The range is made from 40 eaux-de-vie aged up to 8 years, carefully selected from the Cognac region. Hennessy VS is characterized by an elegant style with intense, balanced flavors and is an expression of centuries of perseverance, mastery and experience.
